Kansas City Prepares for the Next Generation Dodge Charger
There’s an all-electric, all-wheel drive Dodge vehicle on its way to our area, and the McCarthy team can’t wait to see our first next-gen Charger Daytona.
It will first be produced as a 2-door model, but there’s a 4-door model coming in 2025. There’s a lot to explore and learn about this new Dodge EV, and the McCarthy team is happy to discuss this exciting new car.
Let’s Talk Daytona Charger Horsepower
Dodge vehicles go all out on the horsepower and torque, and this upcoming performance electric vehicle will be no exception to that rule in this inaugural year.
- The Charger Daytona R/T features the Direct Connection Stage 1 Upgrade and produces an outrageous total output of 496 horsepower along with 404 pound-feet of torque
- The two-door Daytona Scat Pack features the Direct Connection Stage 2 Upgrade which produces an astounding total output of 670 horsepower and 627-pound feet of torque.
All that power will allow the Daytona Scat pack to spring from 0 to 60 MPH in roughly 3.3 seconds with an estimated quarter mile run at 11.5 seconds.

What Do We Know About the Charger Daytona’s Battery?
The battery in this Dodge all-electric car has been carefully engineered to provide maximum performance while still offering the reliability and driving range our buyers demand. Here are some important specifications for the battery in this vehicle:
- 5 kWh of installed capacity
- 550 kW peak discharge rate
- Prismatic and structurally stable cell design
- Enhanced thermal performance and lower temperatures during high-performance driving
- Nickel cobalt aluminum chemistry which provides more power per gram. This is not a lithium-ion battery, but it is Dodge’s battery version of high-octane fuel
If a prismatic structure produces a better battery, we say keep your li-ion and bring on the prisms!
What About Charging My Dodge Charger Daytona?
Every 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona that hits the streets around Kansas City will include a choice between an in-home Level 2 charging station or $600 in charge credits through Stellantis’ charging ecosystem called Free2Move Charge. This answer to EV charging concerns seamlessly provides charging and energy management which works for every electric-vehicle customer’s needs.
When you’re hooked up to a Level 3 DC CCS Fast Charger, you’ll be able to boost the battery life in your Charger Daytona from 20% to 80% in as little as 27 minutes so you can get back to responsible all-wheel burnouts, your daily commute, and running errands in the most thrilling way possible.
Will There Still Be a Gasoline Dodge Charger Available Near Kansas City?
While the EV Charger Daytona will be the first out of the gate, Dodge will produce gasoline-burning Chargers in the future. The lineup will expand to include two Dodge performance cars with internal combustion engines:
- The Charger SIXPACK H.O. will feature 500 horsepower
- The Charger SIXPACK S.O. will output 420 horsepower
Both Chargers will be powered by a Hurricane I-6 engine that displaces 3.0L and features twin turbocharging.
The production dates for the gas-powered Charger models are set for early 2025.
